Tinryland share the spoils with O’Hanrahans in competitive S.F.L. Division 4 opener

Tinryland and O’Hanrahans served up a full blooded opening game in the S.F.L. division 4 at Deerpark on Wednesday 28th March. Despite Garry Fields opening the Tinryland account within 30 seconds of the throw in it was the home side that edged the remainder of the first half. The ‘Blues’ scored 8 well taken points in the first 30 minutes via Chris Power (3), mark Delaney (3), and  Oisin Sinnott (2).

Tinryland tagged on 4 further points when they got going again in the 17th minute with Gregg Murphy contributing 3 and Conal O’Shea one during that period. This left the half time score O’Hanrahans 0-8 Tinryland 0-5.

The Blues extended their advantage in the opening eighteen minutes of the 2nd half with more well taken points from Delaney, Sinnott and Eddie Davis before Tinryland got a life-line with a cracking Gregg Murphy goal which left 3 points separating the sides with 10 minutes remaining. A fitter looking Tinryland then outscored O’Hanrahans by 3 points in the closing stages to gain a share of the spoils. Best for O’Hanrahans were Chris Power, Adam Doyle, Ebbie Nolan,Mark Delaney and Oisin Sinnott. Tinryland’s most prominent players were goalkeeper Lee Buggle, Seamus Curran, Gregg Murphy, Colm Kearney and Garry Fields. Final score O ‘Hanrahans 0-12 Tinryland 1-9. Tinryland are back in action on Wednesday next 4th April at home to Naomh Eoin at 7 p.m.
