Tinryland 2nd Junior team still seeking first win in Division 4

Tinryland are still seeking a first win in division 4 following this bottom of the table clash with Palatine in Bennekerry on Wednesday 17th May. Not many teams can field 3 adult teams and Tinryland are only one of 4 clubs together with Palatine, Eire Og and O’Hanrahans who have 3 squads in action in the 5 divisions of the Carlow football leagues.

In a low scoring first half played in miserable and wet conditions Tinryland could only muster a single point courtesy of Seamus Curran in the 20th minute. The home team fared a little better scoring a goal from Christian Brennan and 3 points before the half time whistle sounded. Half time score Palatine 1-3 Tinryland 0-1.

In the second half Palatine upped the ante adding 8 points and two further goals from Brennan and Conor Conlan. Tinryland also showed an improvement in their scoring rate with substitute Jason Curran notching 1-1, Seamus Curran 2 points and John Jackson and Ross Byrne one point each. Outstanding for Tinryland who still have games left against Askea,and Railyard were Cathal Whelan, Jason Curran, Seamus Curran, Joey Ryan and John Jackson. Final score Palatine 3-11 Tinryland 1-6
