Rathvilly 2-18                                                                              Tinryland 0-4

Rathvilly were in cruise control in this one sided encounter at Fr. Ryan park on Sunday. Three   early points in the opening minutes set the tone for this game in which Brendan Murphy finished with a personal tally of 2-6.

Rathvilly despite playing against the breeze led by 1-11 to 0-3 at the interval with former Co. players Murphy, Alan Kelly and J.J. Smith pulling the strings in an overall dominant performance. The second half was a walk in the park for the home side but Tinryland did squander at least 3 clear cut goal chances which would have put a more respectable look on the scoreboard.

Tinryland who now play Old Leighlin in their final league game will quickly want to forget this display. The winners had outstanding players in the aforementioned Brendan Murphy, J. J. Smith and Alan Kelly together with Conor Doyle, Josh Moore, Danny Molloy and Brian Murphy.

Tinryland’s most prominent players were goalkeeper Ciaran Byrne, Niall Lowry, Conor Byrne, John Paul Moore, Adam Dunne (until injured) and Conor O’Toole.
