Junior B’s make it a perfect weekend for Tinryland Teams

Tinryland Junior B team got their just rewards for some unlucky defeats when they defeated Palatine in the S.F.L. division 5 in Bennekerry on Monday 14th April. The issue was never in doubt from an early stage as the men in blue and white built up a gradual lead and they  should have been out of sight by half time but for kicking an amazing 14 wides.

Tinryland took the lead in the 5th minute when Mick Delaney pointed. This tally was doubled 3 minutes later when Eoin Fields raised a white flag. Tinryland were then forced to make an early substitution with Paddy Browne replacing the injured Niall Fitzpatrick.

The remainder of the first half saw the Tinryland lads add on 4 further points via James Murphy, Eoin Fields (2) and Jack Lowry to leave the half time score 0-6 to 0-0.

When play resumed Palatine finally got on the scoreboard with a point in the 31st minute.

Jack Lowry opened Tinryland’s 2nd half account with a successful free in the 33rd minute before the home side added on 2 further points between the 36th and 40th minutes. The remainder of the game was then dominated by Tinryland with sub John White adding on 2 further points in the 41st and 47th minutes with John Jackson also adding a point to our tally. Tinryland were consistent on the wide statistic chart in the 2nd half also adding on another 12 to the first half tally of 14. Tinryland also introduced John Farrell .Alan Byrne and minor player Dean Dunne into the fray before the final whistle. Final score Tinryland 0-10 Palatine 0-3 . There were some wonderful performances in this game with Adam Mullen, Eoin Fields, Colm Nolan, Alan Kirwan, Peter Hennessy and Gary Scully doing trojan work.

The Junior B’s will be back in action next Monday (Easter Monday) with a home fixture against Ballinabranna at 7 p.m.
