Tinryland 1-10  Old Leighlin 1-11

Tinryland suffered their first defeat by the slimmest of margins in their fourth round encounter at Dr. Cullen Park this evening. It seemed that their 3 point margin (6-3) at half time was never going to be enough playing against the county champions (who had the advantage of the wind in the second half). Old Leighlin managed to forge ahead to a five point lead at one stage before a Paul Broderick penalty left a solitary point between the sides. Tinryland had one final chance to manage an unlikely draw but their attempt was smothered by the Old Leighlin defense. Next weekend sees TInryland face Kildavin Clonegal who had a good victory over Éire Óg this evening. Please see the match report section for a blow-by-blow account of the game from our man on the sideline Eamonn Byrne.
