It was a quiet week on the club playing front with only one Tinryland team in action. The Junior (B) team travelled to Pairc Ui Bhrian to take on Eire Og in round 2 of the J F.C. (B). After a high scoring game Eire Og emerged victorious on a scoreline of 5-14 to 2-13. The concession of two early goals meant that Tinryland had a mountain to climb from the early stages but in fairness the team remained competitive throughout and were still in contention mid-way through the 2nd half. Outstanding for the men in blue and white who play Kildavin-Clonegal in the next round were Garry Moran scorer of 1-8, Colm Kearney, Garry Scully, David O’Shea, John Whyte and Dinny Farrell.

In ladies football Carlow lost out to Louth in the Leinster junior final on Sunday. Bennekerry Tinryland who have won the Carlow S.F.C. for the past 3 years had one representative Nuala Mohan on the starting fifteen with Leah Mullins and Roisin Byrne being introduced as substitutes in the 2nd half. Other BT members on the panel were Ciara Nolan, Deirdre Tomlinson and Elaine Ware. Carlow will now take part in the TG4 All Ireland series with their opening match against Derry on 14th July. Limerick are the other team in Carlow’s group in the championship.

The Tinryland G.F.C. golf classic will take place in Gowran on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th August.

Well done to club member Marcus Lawler who recorded a P.B. for 200m in an International meeting in Brussels at the weekend. Marcus has been in flying form this summer and he also added a 100m win to his 200m success at the weekend.
